This is Why We Vaccinate...

No I didn't steal this image 28 Days Later, that's Al Davis, owner and general manager for the Oakland Raiders, my neighborhood pro football team.

As I embark on a research project exploring potential infectious etiologies of Autism and am thus forced to wade through articles advocating the now-thoroughly debunked notion that vaccinating children leads to this heartbreaking disorder, I would like to remind everyone to get your shots.

If you don't believe me, see what Dr. Paul Offit has to say...

My point being, you don't want your children to end up looking like Mr. Davis up there, who despite being wealthy enough to own a pro sports team, still looks like he just crawled out of the grave and may drag you back there with him. Get your vaccinations!

  1. All kidding aside - It's extremely disheartening when a group of devastated mothers, desperate for an explanation of why their child has autism, are encouraged and exploited by celebrities, politicians and lawyers all looking to capitalize on their suffering. It's incredibly dangerous too, as we're seeing, and completely irresponsible.

Scientists, desperate to spread the truth about real studies showing no strong link between these vaccines and autism, have no chance of being heard over the multitude of angry, heartbroken mothers who have been mislead by the media. Once lawyers find a way to use this real emotional suffering to make money, and politicians find a huge group of voters with a cause to rally behind, there is no fighting the media onslaught that shortly follows.

People won't listen to real facts because a study showing that No-one is to blame for autism makes No-one money. It's all so sad. I commend you for going into a field where you're going to have to fight this kind of media BS for the rest of your life. It's more than I can take. Just reading about it puts me in a rage for an entire day.
